Our History

Believing that family values are powerful levers for social change, the de Gaspé Beaubien grandparents mentored their grandchildren to find their own voice as future philanthropists.

  • In 2012, the 4th generation of the family chose freshwater as their primary issue of concern.
  • To that end they spearheaded & co-funded the charitable organisation, Aqua Forum;
  • And launched the AquaHacking Challenge engaging the rising generation to innovate tech-solutions for fresh water issues.

In addition to the de Gaspé Beaubien Foundation, Aqua Forum is now also supported by various partner organisations

Aqua Forum runs AquaHacking and is developing a new programme which will focus on positioning water-related issues as a health issue to raise public awareness and incite new action on water quality improvement efforts in North America.

AquaHacking has shown that engaging the innovative spirit of the rising generation tech and engineering community to develop solutions for water-related issues is a unique and successful model for developing implementable solutions for watershed issues.
